Why pray? What is the purpose of prayer? God has much to teach us about Himself and the state of our own hearts as we come to Him in prayer. This fall at Cornersone we are trying to get into a more regular rythmn of prayer. Our Prayer Connect gathering is now each Wednesday, 7 pm, at the church. Please join us as we draw closer to Christ, discover His heart, and seek for His Kingdom to come on earth, as it is in heaven.
God has given us prayer, not primarily as a method of getting things or changing circumstances, but as a means of cooperating with Him. (Tom Elliff)
Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the One who hears and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference. (Max Lucado)
Poverty-stricken as the Church is today in many things, she is most stricken
here, in the place of prayer. We have many organizers, but few agonizers; many players and payers,
few prayers; many singers, few clingers; lots of pastors, few wrestlers; many fears, few tears; much
fashion, little passion; many interferers, few intercessors; many writers, but few fighters. Failing here, we fail everywhere. (Leonard Ravenhill)
