Thank you so much for praying and giving in support of the seventeen memebers of the Mission Trip to Colombia.   We are especially thankful that God has supplied almost all of the needed funding for this Mission Trip - $29,093 has been donated towards the total cost of $30,000! 

While the trip got off to a rocky start (a two-day delay in Houston), the team all managed to arrive safely in Medellin and began their work at the SOLAHIS Centre. There we helped power wash and clean the facilities, prepare meals in the kitchen, wash the hundred or so dishes made during lunch, and form connections with the kids. Whether it was through playing games, slow conversations with the limited Spanish/English, or asking questions through translators (apps and people);  our team members were able to form relationships with the kids there and show them God's love through our actions as well as our words.

At the end of the week, we took the youth-group aged students on a retreat to a camp outside the city. There we had an amazing time continuing to build those relationships, but also diving into what Jesus meant when he said to follow him. At the camp, three of our Canadian team members were baptised and they also shared their testimonies with the kids there. We know God was, is, and will still be at work amongst the kids at SOLAHIS and we hope to be able to support them in their journey from Canada as we go forward from here.
