Jesus said to His followers, “You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14-16) A wonderful way we can fulfill this amazing role as a church family is to pray! Please join others from Cornerstone for a special Day of Prayer on Sunday, January 31. From 8 am to 7 pm you can commit to pray for a one-hour block...see schedule below. From 7 pm to 8 pm we will gather on Zoom (see Conerstone Connector for link). What should you pray for? Below you will find a prayer guide with suggested reflection and requests.
Why have a Day of Prayer? Max Lucado makes this interesting comment about prayer, “Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the One who hears and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.” This Day of Prayer is an attempt to be deliberate and dependent upon God in our praying. It is an opportunity to enter His presence because of the blood of Jesus. Since God invites into His throne room...let's accept His amazing invitation! "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." (Hebrews 4:14)
