Cornerstone is a gathering of people in the Albion, Thornhill and Whonnock area of Maple Ridge. We gather to worship Jesus on Sunday at 10:30 am at the "Maple Woods" facility. We want to ensure that your time with us is as enjoyable as it should be! Please feel free to contact us using the form on the contact page if you do not find the information you are looking for, or if you would like to talk to someone.
How do I get there?
Cornerstone Neighbourhood Church meets in the Maple Woods facility which is also known as the old Whonnock Elementary School. The address is 9975 272nd Street, Maple Ridge, BC, V2W 1M4. Just come through the main entrance of the building and you will find us.
What happens when I arrive?
As you arrive at Cornerstone, one or two people from the church will be available to greet you as you come in and will help you to find where to go. You will receive a bulletin with information on the day’s message and the latest news from around the church. From there, come on in, grab a tea or coffee if you wish, and find a seat.
What are the services like?
Expect a welcoming, informal atmosphere. We open with a few songs of worship. Then the children are dismissed to Sunday school, and our pastor will share a message that applies wisdom from the Bible to everyday life. To finish, we usually sing a couple more songs, take an offering (where our members give money to support the church and its work) and that’s it! After the service, we invite you to stay for coffee, goodies and get to know some of the people who call Cornerstone home.
What time is the worship service?
Our services begin at 10:30 am each Sunday. They usually run about 75 minutes.
Do I have to give money?
We do take up an offering during the service but, as our guest, please do not feel obligated to give anything. Those who give money do so to support our church budget, our ministries in the community and our missions in other countries.
Will I have to say, do, or sign anything?
Don’t worry, you will never be put on the spot, singled out, have to say anything, do anything, or give out personal information (unless you choose to). You can stay as anonymous as you want, although we’d certainly like to get to know you better. In the weekly bulletin there is a “Connection Card” which you can fill out and then place in the offering basket. It’s a good place to let us know you were here and hit us with any questions you might have.
What do I do with my kids?
We have four different groups designed specifically to meet the needs of your children. Our helpers are set up and excited to greet your children before the service even begins. Start by signing them in at the front table in the foyer. When you go to drop them off, you can meet their teacher and help them get settled in. Let us know you are coming
We will look forward to meeting you. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to leave them here.
