I'm New

We welcome you

Whatever the reason you are here we want to ensure that your time with us is as enjoyable as it should be!  You may have no questions at all about what to expect at church or you may have loads of them. We've listed a few FAQs here and are very happy to answer any others you may have.  Please feel free to contact us using the form on the contact page if you do not find the information you are looking for, or if you would like to talk to someone.

How do I get there?

CornerStone Neighbourhood Church meets in the Maple Woods Creative Kids Learning Center which is also known locally as the old Whonnock Elementary School (9975 272 Street, Maple Ridge, BC V2W 1M4). Just come through the main entrance of the building and you will find us.

What happens when I arrive?

As you arrive at CornerStone, one or two people from the church will be available to greet you as you come in and will help you to find where to go. You will receive a bulletin with information on the day’s message and the latest news from around the church. From there, come on in, grab a tea or coffee if you wish, and find a seat.

What are the services like?

Expect a welcoming, informal atmosphere. We open with a few songs of worship. Then the children are dismissed to Sunday school, and our pastor will share a message that applies wisdom from the Bible to everyday life. The teaching is challenging and practical - no matter where you might be on your spiritual journey.  To finish, we usually sing a couple more songs, take up the morning’s offering (where our members give money to support the church and our work in the community and abroad) and that’s it! After the service, we invite you to stay for a fresh cup of coffee, enjoy some goodies and get to know some of the people who call CornerStone Neighbourhood Church home.

What time is the worship service?

Our services begin at 10:30 am each Sunday. They usually run about 75 minutes.

Do I have to give money?

We do take up an offering during the service but, as our guest, please don’t feel obligated to give anything. Those who give money do so to support our church budget (which you are more than welcome to take a look at), our ministries in the community and our missions in other countries.

Will I have to say, do, or sign anything?

Don’t worry, you will never be put on the spot, singled out, have to say anything, do anything, or give out personal information (unless you choose to). You can stay as anonymous as you want, although we’d certainly like to get to know you better. In the weekly bulletin there is a “Connection Card” which you can fill out and then place in the offering basket. It’s a good place to let us know you were here and hit us with any questions you might have.

What do I do with my kids?

We have four different groups designed specifically to meet the needs of your children. Our helpers are set up and excited to greet your children before the service even begins. Start by signing them in at the front table in the foyer. When you go to drop them off, you can meet their teacher and help them get settled in. Let us know you are coming

We will look forward to meeting you. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to leave them here.
